Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication: December 2011
Entertainment Intern at The CW Network – San Diego 6
The Grady College and UGA have given me an amazing opportunity to learn and grow as a journalist. I spent an entire summer working as an intern for an entertainment news program in California. I was hired there because of my extensive background working with the UGA NewSource program and my internship with the UGA Athletic Association/IMG College. The Grady faculty pushes students to get out of the classroom and tackle important stories that need to be told in the community. The knowledge I’ve gained here will be vital in my future endeavors in the media industry.
I’ve also had the incredible opportunity to receive a more global education. Leadership and service programs in Cape Town, South Africa, Athens, Greece, and Havana, Cuba have allowed me to step out of my comfort zone while in college and explore new horizons. These study abroad programs have changed the way I look at the world and helped shape my ultimate career objective. My wonderful experience here at UGA is going to put me in the right direction to chase my dreams. I am extremely fortunate to have had great faculty, advisors, and Career Consultants that have been able to give me advice, critique my resume, prepare me for interviews, and so much more.
