SPIA & Terry College: May 2011
Consulting Analyst at Accenture
Looking at a student with two majors and a minor, a recruiter could confidently deduce that student has a lot of interests. My intense curiosity about many subjects and industries did not exactly make the beginning of my career search very easy...so many options! I decided to narrow my search by looking at the specific job tasks that fit what I liked to do day-to-day. I found that an entry level consultant afforded me variety by working with different clients; travel, and the adventure of a big city.
My Career Consultant, Erica Walbert, helped me identify my personal strengths and match them to the careers I was interested in. I learned the importance of networking, doing your research, and following up. Eventually, these things became natural. When I walked into my final interview at my first-choice company in NYC, I was ready. The interview was comfortable, and I immediately knew I would fit there. Though I’m still not sure exactly what I want to do for the rest of my life, I know this is the perfect job for me right now.
