This year’s conference will allow companies and organizations to learn about recruiting trends from our campus partners and to virtually connect with students during the networking hour, using the Handshake platform.

4:00-4:15 PM EST: Welcome!

4:30-6:00 PM EST: UGA Diversity Campus Partner Panel

In this session, you will hear from our diversity partners and students on campus (such as International Student Life, Multicultural Services and Programs, Veterans Resource Center, Disability Resource Center, TRIO, and the Office of Institutional Diversity) about the career needs of diverse student populations. Employers will gain knowledge on student perceptions, workplace values, and your organization’s cultural considerations to help attract diverse talent.

6:30-7:00 PM EST: Keynote

            Matthew French: Your Identity, Your Career: Understanding Identity and Inclusion Branding

7:00PM – 8:00 PM EST; Networking Hour, via Handshake Platform

Your Role: Make sure to register for the event on Handshake and to schedule group or one-on-one sessions to connect with students!

You can use this time to tell the students about your company and its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as share any open positions in your organization. Students may also seek general career advice from you as they begin their job or internship search.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

Registration is available to the first 40 employers that sign up. Please note that you’ll receive a notification from Handshake indicating that you’re able to schedule group and 1:1 student meetings for the 7:00-8:00 PM Networking Hour portion of this event. You can schedule one-on-one sessions and/or group meeting(s) with room for 50 participants each. If you’d like to host larger group meetings during the fair, you’ll be able to enter an external video meeting link and host the meeting in the system of your choice. Due to the online (virtual) delivery format of this event, student attendance is subject to fluctuation and may be uneven across the 'virtual booths'. No refunds will be issued based on number of students in attendance for the event as a whole or per organization.

All event participants are strongly encouraged to test and verify connection strength of their WiFi network and general performance of computer hardware before joining the event. The UGA Career Center is not responsible if participants cannot access the event due to internet connectivity issues. Career Center and Handshake staff will be available the day of the event to field questions and provide limited technical support.

In the event of widespread technical issues originating from the event host during the career fair time period, we will immediately post a notification online at www.hireUGA.com advising of any issues.
