Account Executive Intern at CDW-G

Sometimes I consider myself a DAWGlink addict! I'm constantly searching for opportunities to enhance my leadership abilities. During my first year of college, I applied for an internship with CDW-G as an Account Executive Intern; the job experience matched what I was looking for in an internship. After 3 intense interviews, I was chosen for the position. I currently meet with the different IT Managers and Directors on-campus and try to get to know these people on a personal level while building professional relationships and providing them CDW-G information and collateral.

I was recently selected by management to participate in the CDW-G Higher Education Classroom Advisory Board. This board is comprised of 10 individuals with only 2 interns, including myself. We are currently discussing topics such as sales training, partnership development and marketing efforts in order to further develop CDW-G’s classroom technology plan. I have also been selected by my management to speak at an all-intern panel at the Campus Technology Forum in Boston this summer. CDW-G’s Vice President of Higher Education is presenting the annual CDW-G 21st-Century Campus Report. The fourth-annual report, which will be released at the conference, is based on a survey of college students, faculty, and IT staff, and will examine technology trends and challenges on college campuses. Out of all of the CDW-G interns around the nation, there were only about 3 interns selected to speak at this event.

A little over a year later since my last Career Center Success Story and I still consider myself a DAWGlink addict! I’m constantly searching for opportunities to enhance my leadership abilities and diversify my work experiences. I've been able to successfully utilize the resources at the Career Center to help locate more extensive opportunities.

This past summer, I interned fulltime at Viacom Media Networks in New York, New York within the Content Distribution and Marketing Department. In addition to gaining valuable real world and hands on experience within the entertainment and media industries, the biggest highlights of my summer internship experience with Viacom were personally meeting with the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operations Officer. I am also the current campus ambassador for Procter & Gamble, Microsoft and Cornerstone Promotion. All thanks to DAWGlink and the UGA Career Center for posting these amazing opportunities online!
