Executive Intern at Target

My Executive Stores Internship experience with Target fell nothing short of a world class hands-on education. I found out about the internship through Target.com/careers. Through Target, my innate leadership skills were refined through experience and guidance. Target has a great reputation for their management structure. For my internship, I was placed in charge of an area of my store, and with the guidance of my mentor, who was a UGA alum, I learned how to manage my business and team. I worked with store reports, other interns in my district, and my peers at Target to refine my skills to carry with me to UGA. I loved my experience because I learned more than I ever imagined about a business, how to lead a team, and how to leverage my strengths. I am confident that I will be able to utilize the skills and experiences I obtained during this internship in a variety of different career roles and life experiences. Target has enabled me to grow as a leader, a young professional and has inspired me to meet my career goals. I sit in classes now at the Terry College of Business and relate what I learned at Target to lecture topics. Now that my summer internship is complete, I have a new role as a Target Campus Liaison for The University of Georgia, representing Target’s employment brand and job opportunities on campus.

If I could provide advice to students looking for an internship it would be to question not what you will be doing during your internship, but what will that company be doing for you as an intern. Target has facilitated my growth and encouraged me to consistently move in a positive direction.
