Entertainer at Walt Disney World Parks & Resorts

Establishing a career can often be somewhat of a challenge for most students. However with the help of the Career Center, constant persistence and networking strategies, I was able to find myself securely nestled in my dream company—The Walt Disney Company.

Throughout my college experience, I have been offered many opportunities to sharpen my skills, not only in media, but constant areas where interacting with different members of the student and local community came into play. This communication helped lead me to the WDW College Program. Over the course of this program, I was able to work in different areas of Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts. I began as an attractions cast member at The American Idol Experience, networked within the broadcasting division of the parks, and also participated in the world-class entertainment that we offer at our parks. While juggling all of these roles during the program, I remembered one thing that I could not forget—my future. There were many days of networking, building lasting relationships with different leaders within the parks and resorts, as well as taking the lead on certain situations (all leadership qualities I received from the Career Center). The key was my persistence. And this persistence and drive to continuously work my best played a key role in me being offered a position as a full-time entertainer at WDW, as well as a leading candidate for a Management/Leadership Internship in Theme Park Operations.
