Join us and learn from our UGA Mentor Alumni about managing personal and professional change effectively, proactive planning, clear communication, and adaptability. It's crucial to understand the reasons behind the change, anticipate potential challenges, and leverage the support systems available.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Plan and Prepare:
Create a plan that outlines your goals, timelines, and steps for transitioning through the change. This includes identifying resources, support systems, and potential challenges.
2. Communicate Effectively:
Clearly communicate the reasons for the change, the expected outcomes, and the roles and responsibilities of individuals involved. Use different communication channels to reach various stakeholders and address their concerns.
3. Manage Expectations:
Set realistic expectations for the change process and acknowledge the potential for resistance or setbacks. Encourage open communication and feedback to address concerns and build trust.
4. Adapt and Be Flexible:
Be prepared to adjust your plans and strategies as needed. Embrace new skills and knowledge required for the new environment or role.
