Insight Global: A Career Conversation with Korie McQueen

What motivated you to join Insight Global?
I was motivated by the opportunity for growth and success. I had a close friend that worked at Insight Global at the time and saw them achieve many personal and professional goals in just a few short years. During the interview process, I was most excited about the support and camaraderie that employees had for their peers’ accomplishments.

How does Insight Global convey to employees a sense of belonging?
One of our shared values at Insight Global is “We Take Care of Each Other”. There have been countless times that my peers and leaders have encouraged me to share vulnerabilities and provided a support system to ensure my success. The people at Insight Global genuinely care about each other and create an incredible culture.

In what ways has Insight Global supported your professional development and growth?
The leadership team spends a lot of time doing one to one coaching, and they are committed to providing constructive feedback. Their mentoring has been a significant part of my growth and development.

In what ways are you supported in maintaining a healthy work-life balance?
One of the things I love most about Insight Global is that the employees value and appreciate work-life balance. When I need time away, my leaders make sure that I have the support system needed to step away and enjoy life events.

How do you know that you’re making a difference/having an impact with the work that you do?
It’s very fulfilling to be in a position where I can support so many people in their professional careers. I enjoy helping candidates find a new job and creating valuable partnerships with clients. I have also created countless friendships along the way.

What makes you proud to represent Insight Global?
The people I work with and how much they give to each other and their clients. I am proud to be a part of that community. People at Insight Global genuinely care for one another and want to see each other succeed personally and professionally.

In what ways do you feel like you’ve grown since working for Insight Global?
Insight Global has taught me so many valuable lessons, all of which have shaped who I am today. The importance of self-reflection, and how to find confidence in myself, come to mind first. I have learned to always seek to understand others, look at ways to improve myself, and believe in my abilities.

What do you wish you had known about the professional world when you were a student?
Before entering the professional world, I didn’t truly understand the value of feedback, and saw it as a negative experience. I wish I would have known that feedback is a tool for growth, and that people give feedback out of care.

In thinking about emerging young professionals, what advice would you share to those seeking their first opportunities?
To not be afraid to fail, and to be gritty. The most fulfilling moments in my career have been those that were initially uncomfortable or uncertain. The easy road is often presented, but true growth comes from not giving up and leaning into the uncertainty.
