The Pre-Health Explore Lab is a small group workshop designed specifically to meet the career development needs of pre-health students. Centered around critical preprofessional topics, Pre-Health Explore Labs prepare undergraduate students with skills and knowledge necessary for successful futures in healthcare and graduate school applications.

Discovering Gap/Growth Year Opportunities includes group discussion, reflective questions, and an overview of resources to help you navigate planned and unplanned gap years between undergraduate studies and the start of preprofessional schooling.

After attending this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Recognize common misconceptions about taking a gap year and define a gap year’s benefits
  • Define personal and professional values to help with identifying gap year opportunities
  • Choose 2-4 tasks you’d like to accomplish during your growth year

This workshop is limited to 25 people per session and pre-registration in Handshake is required.
