Regardless of your professional role, or whether you manage others or not, the soft skill of managing change and conflict is one that is absolutely critical for your success. We can't avoid conflict, and it is something that can actually improve our work relationships if we know how to handle it correctly. However, most of us want to avoid conflict. Additionally, it can be difficult to manage situations with a wide range of employees with different backgrounds, skill sets, and ages. These differences along with changes in the way we work (remotely, etc.) can create unexpected conflicts in the workplace, especially when times are more difficult and uncertain.

In this webinar, we will discuss important coaching skills that can help any professional more effectively manage conflict and touchy situations, such as:
-Creating a safe space for open conversations.
-Leveraging active listening to manage touchy situations.
-How to use powerful questions to empower, support, and work through disagreements.
-Three critical coaching skills that will enable you to better manage conflict.

If you are still working remotely or in a hybrid model, are you finding yourself continuously connected to your job? Work-life balance continues to be a hot topic with the Great Resignation and employees are focusing more and more on its importance. The majority of salaried employees work overtime or on the weekend, and this was exacerbated even more because of the pandemic. While our jobs are a big part of our lives, it's absolutely necessary to take a break. It's too easy working from home to get caught up in day-to-day professional activities and allow them to bleed into our personal lives. How can you achieve work-life balance and learn to thrive in your role while working from home, returning to the office, or working in a hybrid role?

In this webinar we will discuss:
-How to maintain work-life balance in any work situation.
-Tips for staying connected with your colleagues effectively.
-How to stay motivated when working remotely and more.

Do you ever feel like you're not as good as others think you are? That your success is due to luck versus your talents and hard work? If you ever doubt yourself and your talents, you're not alone. Studies show that up to 70% of professionals suffer from impostor syndrome, which affects their confidence, effectiveness, and fulfillment at work. This number has increased because so many people changed jobs during the Great Resignation and started working remotely, being thrown into new virtual systems working from home or in a hybrid model.

Join us for this webinar to learn how to:
- Overcome this sense of inferiority
- Manage the negative thinking that impacts your confidence and performance
- Value your and articulate your experience and successes in a realistic way

As the effects of the Great Resignation continue, more companies are open to making some adjustments to their long-term benefits in order to retain their employees and manage turnover. This means that more than ever before, employees are able to negotiate successfully for things like flex time, working remotely or in a hybrid model, a raise, and other benefits like education perks - even during a possible recession. However, many professionals are unsure of how to negotiate effectively, build their confidence to make the ask properly, and what they can negotiate for due to the changes in the workplace and in the economy.

In this webinar, we will discuss:
- How to prepare for the "ask"
- Tips for handling the meetings and negotiating effectively along the way
- Ways to close the loop and follow up after the meetings

Virtual Mock Interview Day #3

Time: 9:00 am until 12:30 pm

Location: Virtual Venue (Online)

UGA Virtual Mock Interview Week is a week-long event for UGA students from all majors offering the opportunity to practice video interviewing skills with UGA recruiters. Please note that these are not interviews for employment purposes. These are MOCK interviews for educational purposes only.

How to Apply:

1. Submit your resume to the appropriate posting. Application Deadline: Wednesday, January 18th @ 11:59 pm on Handshake.

2. Sign up for an interview slot. Please note that we have limited space and interviews will be available to students signing up on a first-come, first-served basis. If there are no interview slots with the posting you apply to, please select a different posting and start over at step #1.

3. Once you are registered for an interview slot, the Career Center will follow up with information about how to log into the virtual mock interview.

Mock Interview Week Lineup - Friday, January 27th:

Equifax (AM)
Fisher Investments (AM)
Zurich North America (AM)

How to Prepare:

Students should wear business professional attire and plan as if this was an actual virtual interview. Please plan to log in 10-15 minutes before your scheduled interview time to ensure your technology is working properly. Check out this article for tips on preparing for video interviewing.

No-Show/Last-Minute Cancellation Policy:

Please take your mock interview sign-up very seriously as employers are taking the time to be available for these interviews. Employers will be receiving the list of students with whom they are meeting and their resumes ahead of time so they will be expecting you. As with our on-campus interviews, if a student cancels less than 24 hours before the scheduled interview time, or if the student does not show up for a scheduled interview, the student’s Handshake account will be blocked. In order to have their Handshake account unblocked, the student must write an apology/explanation letter to the interviewer within 48 hours of the missed interview.

Application Deadline:

Wednesday, January 18th @ 11:59 pm on Handshake. Please note that we have limited space and interviews will be available to students signing up on a first-come, first-served basis.
