As you prepare for the pre-med pathway, you will discover there are many requirements – both well-known and obscure – that you must complete during your studies and/or gap year(s) before applying to medical school programs. In this workshop, we will provide guidance on what you should expect on the pre-med pathway year-by-year, “hidden curriculum” that you may not be aware of, and UGA resources that can help you navigate this pathway. Regardless of if you’ve declared the pre-med pathway or how much you’ve completed, this workshop will provide tips to creating strategies on your journey to medicine. This program develops the following UGA Institutional Competencies: Leadership and Collaboration and Social Awareness and Responsibility.

By attending this virtual Arch Ready program, you will be able to:

• Identify 3 UGA departments and resources that will help you navigate the pre-med track.

• Anticipate hidden curriculum, such as CASPER testing requirements and standing out to admissions committees, before you start the med school application process.

• Create at least 2 short-term and long-term goals and tentative completion dates based on your timeline.
