Career Events & Arch Ready Programs
Gaining Pre-Professional Experience (Arch Ready Spring 2025)
Date: February 11, 2025
Time: 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm
Location: Online Via Handshake
When applying to health professions programs, pre-health students must accrue many pre-professional experiences, such as shadowing and/or clinical hours, leadership, volunteering, research, and study abroad – just to name a few! Some of the opportunities may be easier to secure than others, especially in Athens and the local community. As a pre-health student, you may be feeling overwhelmed or unsure of where to begin building credentials for professional school programs. Attend this panel discussion to gather real-life networking and job search advice from fellow pre-health UGA students.
This program develops the following UGA Institutional Competencies: Creativity & Innovation, Leadership & Collaboration, and Social Awareness & Responsibility. By attending this panel discussion, you will be able to:
• Define how diverse experiences in clinical, leadership, research, and community service professional school applications and readiness.
• Identify strategies to connect with professionals and clinical and non-clinical sites to gain pre-professional experiences.
• Assess and pursue meaningful positions that align with career interests and values.
• Outline two next steps to prepare for networking with health care professionals.
