Topic Research Skills Outside of Academia (Arch Ready Fall 2025)

Are you passionate about research but also know that you don’t want to conduct research at higher ed institutions? Join us for an engaging panel discussion featuring alumni who have built successful research careers outside of higher education. Our panelists will share their journeys, insights, and strategies for navigating alternative research pathways. This session is designed to help you critically evaluate your career options, understand the diverse landscape of research roles beyond academia, and develop the analytical skills necessary to make intentional career decisions.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Identify a range of non-academic research career paths and the skills and qualifications commonly required in these sectors.
2. Analyze personal values, interests, and strengths in relation to different research roles to support intentional and informed career decision-making.
3. Apply critical thinking strategies to evaluate job opportunities, assess organizational fit, and plan next steps in their professional development.
