Career Center Staff
Director of Career Development and Programs
With almost 8 years of serving at the University of Georgia, Bethany was recently named Director of Career Development and Programs at the UGA Career Center. As a licensed professional counselor with over 10 years of experience in career services, Bethany has served both alumni and students at UGA and finds joy in helping others find meaningful careers. She strives to incorporate inclusivity in all aspects of career development and believes that differences help to create more creativity and fresh ideas in the workplace. Her additional skills include career counseling, teaching/presentations, employer and alumni engagement, supervising, and training new staff members and student interns.
Bethany's career development perspective is that experiential activities and "happening" upon opportunities is often how we find our way in the world of work. She also believes that finding a meaningful career often begins by assessing interests, abilities, values and personality type to begin the exploration process. She is a certified practitioner for the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Strong Interest Inventory and enjoys using assessments to help UGA students and alumni make sense of their career development
